According to John MacArthur, the challenges facing women today are "... the pressures of a culture that has a corrupt view of women ... a culture that has given itself over to human sexuality ..." and one that is destroying marriages like never before.
Those same pressures are what challenged me in my youth. I believed the lies of the feminist movement and as a result made many poor decisions that impacted my life. Thankfully, by God's grace, I was saved from a life headed for destruction. More importantly, through studying God's Word, I've come to understand, and embrace with ...Read Full Post »

Last year I took to memorizing several key passages outlined in the MacArthur Daily Bible. Isaiah 53:4-6 (below) became a most favorite because of the power and significance of each word. It also was the perfect passage to meditate on during the weeks leading up to Resurrection Sunday. Now a year later, those verses remain etched in my heart as a reminder of the One who suffered and died for my sins so that I could have eternal life:
"Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows, yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted ...Read Full Post »

They make the difference between simply reading about the crucifixion and having a sense of being an eyewitness. Those precise observations come from the gospel writers and provide pertinent details that will add dramatically to your listeners worship this Easter. And that's why Grace to You® believes it's important for listeners to tune in when John MacArthur explains the critical yet often overlooked details from Calvary in his study The Crucifixion Chronicle (airs March 11-21).
Then in the week leading up to Easter Sunday, John gives us more reason to be confident in The Resurrection of Jesus Christ ...Read Full Post »

"The Holy Spirit-inspired quartet of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John is the pinnacle of Scripture because in it, the Lord Jesus Christ is most perfectly revealed and God most clearly manifest." --John MacArthur
After reading that statement in John's recent letter to listeners, I found myself eager to pick up my Bible and read through the four Gospels again. Yet, my concern was "how do I gain a clear picture of the life and ministry of Jesus without jumping between one account to another and potentially missing vital pieces?" Thankfully, in reading further, John immediately put my fears to ...Read Full Post »

It’s sobering to think that perhaps millions of professing believers are confused about a foundational aspect of Christianity — the nature of the Holy Spirit.
It's for that reason, John MacArthur starts a new study that should help set the record straight on this mischaracterized member of the Trinity. Listen for Taking the Mystery Out of the Spirit’s Work on "Grace to You®," starting Monday, January 14.
The following week, John takes a more extensive look at the entire Trinity — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — as well as the angels who serve Him and the devil who wars ...Read Full Post »

Generally the weekend after Thanksgiving is when the Christmas decorations go up. That certainly was the case in my brother's home (where we're living temporarily). From snowmans (including one that sings!) to various Santa Claus decorations to stockings, lights, a wreath and a tree ... there's no denying, it's very festive here!
But as most of us know, there's so much more to this holiday than the decorations.
On "Grace to You®" in December, John MacArthur takes a look at The Birth of the King, helping listeners see (many for the first time) the beneath-the-surface truth ...Read Full Post »
