I do love my evening walks especially now when daylight lingers a little longer. And those evening walks provide me an opportunity to listen to my favorite Bible teaching program, "Grace to You®," on my local radio station.
This past week, I listened as John MacArthur finished up his series on How to Study the Bible. While most of the series covered the why and how, what was most revealing was learning about who can study the Bible. Honestly, I had never contemplated that truth. John summarized it well when he said, "You've got to be the ...Read Full Post »

My husband and I often watch Dateline on Friday nights. Honestly, if you didn't know the Bible and the depravity that has gone on for thousands of years, you would after watching just a few episodes of those real life crime stories. It's clear we're a world full of sinful people with no moral compass.
Grace to You® says that now we're living in a time when morality's been turned upside down. Right is considered wrong, and wrong is right--everywhere from the boardroom to the TV screen. Sadly, even many church leaders fail to live ...Read Full Post »

With just days away from the start of a new year and listeners already making plans for 2015, we thought it'd be wise to highlight some things Grace to You® wants your listeners to know.
Starting in January, John MacArthur begins two new series. First, he takes a look at what Jesus said about eternal life in The Second Birth (airing 1/12-23). Then immediately following is The Love God Hates (airing 1/26-2/2). In this study, listeners are going to hear about an aspect of God's character that's often overlooked--His hatred.

My elderly father has been preoccupied lately with finding the perfect coffee mug. A year ago he convinced me the one at a local bakery was the perfect mug. So I bought it for him. Last month he found yet another one at a restaurant. The kind owner was willing to part with it. And then this past week, my dad came across the one cup he had to have. :-)
At one time or another we've all been in search of something "perfect"--job, home, purse (most women can resonate with this one), even soulmate. Recently, I've been ...Read Full Post »

Count it all joy (James 1:2) is one Scripture verse some people have a hard time embracing. In fact, I'll never forget the first time a friend expressed her frustration with it saying, "How does anyone count it all joy when there's nothing to be happy about!?" Yow!
I'm confident my friend isnt the only one to have ever expressed that sentiment. Even mature Christians struggle to maintain a joyful outlook in the midst of difficult circumstances (me included!).
Coming up in November on "Grace to You®," John Macarthur addresses this subject in his series, Joy ...Read Full Post »

What does true discipleship look like? How should we use our Christian liberty? How can we impact the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ? According to Grace to You®, those questions-and many more-speak to the heart of what it means to honor Christ with our life.
And that's the focus of John MacArthur's teaching next month on the daily broadcast of "Grace to You®." A Course for Life is the best-of collection from John's chapel messages at The Master's College where he regularly preaches to more than 1,000 students. This series of messages (airing ...Read Full Post »
