Heroes in my life
- Friday, July 15, 2011
While watching "I am number four" recently, I was struck by how much I wanted to possess super powers. I want to be the superhero and 'save the day.' Cliché, I know . . . but true! That got me thinking about the real life heroes that I've had (and continue to have) in my life: My father, my grandfather, and of course, my wife. These are all people who have impacted me in truly special ways.
This year I was given the opportunity to work with another hero of mine. Standing up for the sanctity of human life, Brad Mattes' daily ...

I'm a firm believer that we need to take time to celebrate life. Simply slowing down to enjoy a meal with family and friends on special occasions is important to me, as I'm sure it is for you too! Perhaps that's why I'll most likely spend Independence Day doing just that! In the midst of these family times, however, I also like to think about what makes the day special in the first place. This 4th of July, as you enjoy the BBQ and fireworks, we invite you to also take time to pay tribute ...
Brad Mattes in D.C and Ecuador
- Thursday, April 28, 2011
Ever wonder what Brad Mattes does when he's not recording "Life Issues®"? Well, currently he is in Washington D.C. networking with other pro-life leaders. Speaking in various cities and towns throughout the country, Brad will also be equipping and training local leaders on helping men after the loss of a child due to abortion. Please remember to keep Brad in your prayers, especially for wisdom as he communications across a linguistic and cultural barrier while in Ecuador.
Not only, however, does ...

Do you wear glasses? I do. Without them, my world is fuzzy, undefined and incoherent. Glasses help bring everything into focus, bringing order to my life.
This is exactly what Brad Mattes does so skillfully with his daily commentary. Standing firm on a biblical worldview, Brad provides a Christian perspective to the Life Issues® swirling around us. His insightful observations challenge me to think critically, and of course, biblically on decisions we make every day.
In this day and age when truth is subjective and based on personal values, Brad's profound Christ-centered angle on the current events is certainly ...

I can't help but think that this is what your listeners want to tell you for airing the daily "Life Issues®" program and the recent Sanctity of Life Sunday special . . . and so do I. I believe that many lives were saved and changed because one of your listeners heard Melissa Ohden's story. Life does begin at conception!
But wait. The work isn't done yet! There are more who need to hear the message of "Life Issues®."
Brad Mattes, Executive Director of the Life Issues® Institute will be at NRB and I know he'd love to let ...

I've always felt bad for the December babies, myself included. Why? Because our birthday presents and Christmas presents are often combined into one. I feel especially awful for the people who share the exact birthday with Jesus for this reason! This, of course, is a trivial thing to be sad about. In fact, I am more joyful for the birth of Christ than anything else. His life is the reason we are all here today.
It's my opinion that birthdays are a special time not only for the one celebrating the birthday, but also their friends and family ...
