What is a Godly Woman?

  • Friday, February 19, 2016

Woman walking wisdomMy deepest desire is to be a Woman after God's Own Heart . . .  a godly woman.  One molded by and used of God.  And, without God's leading and intervention it won't happen.  That is my daily prayer.

Elizabeth George (A Woman after God's Own Heart) says that praying to become a godly woman is a worthy prayer, but she also asks, "What does a godly woman do?  How does she act?  What is it about her that marks her out as a godly woman?"

Those are the answers I need.   Elizabeth points to Titus 2:3-5 where ...

Christmas

Last Christmas, Elizabeth George (A Woman after God's Own Heart) wrote this lovely blog about our Savior, that I wanted to share with you.   It's so easy to get involved in the festivities of the holiday that we often overlook the importance of why, we as Christians, celebrate Christmas.

On "A Woman after God's Own Heart" this month, Elizabeth George, has many encouraging programs addressing different situations you may be facing -- (10/19) New Habits; (10/23) Making it Through the Dark; (10/28 ...

Woman PrayingIs it hard for you to take time to pray before starting your day?  Just keeping your eyes open is often a challenge in the early morning hours, let alone taking time to pray.

My day begins very early, but if I don't take time to pray the day just doesn't seem to go well.  Without my morning prayer time with the Lord, I'm on my plan for the day, not God's . . .  and that never works out well.

Elizabeth George, A Woman after God's Own Heart, reminds us that each day is so full of ...

Train Up a Child

Mother and ChildRecently, when reading Elizabeth George's book "A Mom after God's Own Heart,"   I thought about the season of my life when I was raising my children.  It was such a sweet time, but often very challenging.  As a parent, you probably know just what I mean.

My biggest fear was not being a good enough mom, making a mistake that would forever damage them.  God reminded me I just had to commit my children to Him, teach and train them in His ways, and be a Godly example. He had a plan for them, and I was to ...
