In case you wonder what we think, we've dedicated a space for commentary (including guest posts). And take a look at who's been to Ambassador lately in our own version of the Greenroom!

Praying for Your Children

While raising kids, there are markers that define each stage of growth.  When you see them take their first steps, ride a bike without training wheels, start Kindergarten, and the big stage I'm experiencing right now with my 16-year-old son, learning how to drive!  If I wasn't a praying mom before this process started, I'm certainly one now!

For his Dad and me, we recognize that this is a really big step in his life and ours.  This stage brings with it a whole new level of independence for him, and for us, more dependence on the ...

The Missing Piece

We have a puzzle that's been in the family for years.  We've put it together and taken it a part countless times since my children were toddlers.  It's a puzzle of the United States . . .  with one piece missing.

The hole in the puzzle is Delaware.  We've often imagined finding the missing piece and with Delaware in place, having a better appreciation of the "lay-out of the land." To date, though, the piece  remains missing.

I thought about the puzzle when I recently began listening to an audio version of the Bible -  listening to His Word has ...

At the NRB Convention in February, Barry spoke with station leaders and mentioned how somber it is to Google the phrase, "Why are Christians so" and let Google's predictive search fill in the rest of your query.

Google auto-fills the end of that question to include the following words:

  • Judgmental
  • Happy
  • Homophobic
  • Ignorant
  • Intolerant
  • Judgmental
  • Crazy
  • Fake
  • Self-righteous
  • Unlike their Christ

It's not a flattering ...

Where to Turn When You Forget the Plan

"Mom, is there anything that will make me warm?"

As I sat on my favorite bench overlooking the bay—a cherished reading place—I couldn't help but smile at the family adjacent me.

After an evening of swimming, dusk approached, and the three-year-old son became cold.  So he said to his mother, "I'm ready to get out now."

She responded with plans for a hot bath and they agreed to leave immediately to implement the strategy.  Not 60 seconds later—as if he'd forgotten everything they just discussed—the son asked, "Mom, is there anything that will ...

Passing the Baton

ormshOver my four years as a student at Azusa Pacific University, I was blessed with many things, but one of my favorites has been a solid community that's extended beyond campus and into the "real world."

I not only made some of my best friendships during my time there, but stepped into post-grad with older women who are intentional about pouring into me, and younger women who are eager to learn from and with me.

While all of these relationships are important in their own way, there's something so special about being loved, supported, challenged, and grown by ...
