News & Insights

With 50 years of experience, we "get" that things are always changing! That's why we've dedicated a section of our website to provide the very latest information about the speakers and ministries we serve--and about us, too. Come take a look at "what's new"--or use the sidebar options to take a deeper look at areas of particular interest. In case you wonder what we think, we've dedicated a space for commentary (including guest posts). And take a look at who's been to Ambassador lately in our own version of the Greenroom!

Emilie Barnes

When I picked up my phone today, I heard Bob Barnes say: "Emilie passed away yesterday afternoon."

It was my privilege for well over a decade to serve as Ambassador's representative working with Emilie Barnes on her radio program, "Keep it Simple!"  And in the process I got to know a woman who exemplified her well-known brand, "More Hours in My Day."

More hours for thousands of women across the country who learned from Emilie how to efficiently deal with details of their home, raise their children, support their families and friends, become expert in every detail of "home ...

This Sunday School Will Never Be the Same

My favorite part of every weekend is time at church, where I get to volunteer as a 4th grade Sunday school leader.  A couple weeks ago, we had a new volunteer, and she beamed so uniquely with the love of God that I want to introduce you to her, as well.

We'll call this woman "Teresa."

Teresa just turned 90 years old.  Her husband of 65+ years died a few months ago.  She's processing grief and mourning loss.  The grocery list is forever shorter.  The sounds of the house permanently softer.  The calendar eternally emptier.

Or is it ...

Remembering 9/11

WTC 9/11

Do you remember where you were on September 11, 2001?

I was in Grand Rapids attending the Midwest Regional NRB conference at the Maranatha Center.  We'd just finished breakfast and most of us were gathered in the lobby of the lodge when on the TV Good Morning America was reporting a plane had crashed into one of the towers at the World Trade Center.  Before we could wrap our heads around what was happening, we witnessed another plane deliberately crash into the second tower. Two more coordinated terrorist attacks occurred that horrific day and thousands of lives were lost ...

Max Lucado on the Bible

This year, Max Lucado has shared many times on the importance of God's Word in a Christian's life.  In a world where it's just as easy to Google an article or read a self-help book as it is to pick up our Bibles—we can forget there is only one true guide for our livesGod's Word!

It's a lesson I've had to learn ... and re-learn again recently
to create space for the most important document ever given to humankind.  Through the journey, I've appreciated listening to Max's Bible-themed editions of UpWords® ...

Where Faith and Politics Meet

There is no doubt that this is one crazy election year and I, like you, have been trying to sort through the confusion as I consider my voting choices.  I know that you and your listeners are likely doing the same.  How do we answer the questions, "should Christians vote in this election," and "how should we vote?"

These questions were posed to Pastor Jim Garlow and after giving his answer through various platforms, he composed a well written, rational piece that was recently published in Charisma Magazine.  As of this posting, the article has passed 900,000 shares and ...

Evangelism Explosion’s Congress of The Nations: The Great Commission in Action

  • Monday, August 29, 2016

When Jesus gave the Great Commission to the disciples, these ordinary men were faced with a seemingly overwhelming task: Making disciples of all nations.

Yet in the midst of this seemingly overwhelming directive, Jesus assured them, “Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20)

And that we draw ever closer to the end of the age, Christians continue the work of taking the gospel to every corner of the earth.

Just this month, John Sorensen, president of Evangelism Explosion (EE) and host of Share Life Today, convened the third triennial Congress of ...
