HalloweenA new chapter is upon me, and yet we've only just begun to get acquainted!

As I sit at my desk for the last time in a now almost empty office in the lovely offices of Ambassador Advertising I am sad that I was not able to stay just a little bit longer.

As someone who keeps up with the goings-on at Ambassador you know me to be the oldest of six and from the lovely city of Santa Rosa - located about 60 miles above San Francisco in the heart of wine country. Somewhere my heart has always stayed ...

What Is and Isn't Changing at Compassion

Letter from Wess Stafford

Compassion International is marking 60 (yes, 60!) years of ministry.
It's a big year and there's a lot to celebrate.  There's also a lot to pray for, including the search for the ministry's next leader.  That's right -- a big change is on the horizon for the organization that annually serves over 1.3 million children in poverty.  To learn about what is -- and isn't -- changing, here's a word from Compassion's President Wess Stafford:

"I Was There"

TConakryhere's nothing like experiencing something first hand.

Just ask our very own Jim Sanders and Evelyn Gibson as they recently returned from a trip to the Africa Mercy to visit the mercy givers serving the needy in Conakry, Guinea. (Read their reports of the journey here.)

One of ...

A Vision for Revival

Does it seem that the world keeps growing bleaker?  While the darkness seems to be getting darker, there is also a widespread move among God's people to cry out to Him for revival.

At the recent True Woman '12 Conference, Janet Parshall issued an urgent "Spiritual State of the Union" address, declaring us to be in a state of spiritual emergency-the church included.  She challenged us to repent so the Lord might send revival.  God used this session to ignite a flame of desperation and longing in the hearts of many women.

Erika wrote: Usually when I hear where ...

3 Essentials for a Good Report

When I want to know how a ministry is doing, I'm often looking for three things.  See if you agree:

1)  What's going well? (Praise)

2)  What needs attention? (Prayer)

3)  What are people saying? (Testimony)

For example, on October 31 my church hosted a Harvest festival for the community -- inviting families to a safe alternative to door-to-door "trick or treating".  As a ministry outreach, during the evening volunteers of the event were asking variations of the three questions above.

1)  What's going well?  Praise: We have plenty of candy and helpers!

2)  What needs attention?  Prayer ...
