The Marriage Debate Continues

Family FactsThis week the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in cases that challenge the constitutionality of the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and California's Proposition 8.  And, today, it's anticipated that thousands will gather at the National Mall in Washington, DC to "March for Marriage," showing their support for traditional marriage.

The Gospel According to God

Last year I took to memorizing several key passages outlined in the MacArthur Daily Bible.  Isaiah 53:4-6 (below) became a most favorite because of the power and significance of each word. It also was the perfect passage to meditate on during the weeks leading up to Resurrection Sunday.  Now a year later, those verses remain etched in my heart as a reminder of the One who suffered and died for my sins so that I could have eternal life:

Easter: A Love Story

A friend asks on her Facebook page, “So when did Easter become the new Christmas? What's up with these Easter baskets stuffed with toys?  When I was a kid we got a chocolate bunny (a solid one if you were lucky) some jelly beans and a couple of marshmallow chicks and called it a day!”
