News & Insights

With 50 years of experience, we "get" that things are always changing! That's why we've dedicated a section of our website to provide the very latest information about the speakers and ministries we serve--and about us, too. Come take a look at "what's new"--or use the sidebar options to take a deeper look at areas of particular interest. In case you wonder what we think, we've dedicated a space for commentary (including guest posts). And take a look at who's been to Ambassador lately in our own version of the Greenroom!

Freedom in My Soul

I love the idea of journaling.

But I don't do it.

At least, I don't journal in the traditional sense.  I'll note certain moments in my journal, but I'll go days, sometimes  months, without an entry.

What I am pretty consistent about though is journaling the reflections of others.

I deeply appreciate and take to heart words from those who have traversed through valleys and have grown deeper in their walk with our heavenly Father as a result.

Joni Eareckson Tada is one of those sojourners to me and many others.  She spoke at the True ...

A Different Kind of Freedom

Have you discovered that while you can have the best intentions with plans, sometimes we have to change direction and follow the course or prompting from the Lord?  This was the case two years ago at the Revive Our Hearts True Woman '12 conference when Joni Eareckson Tada took the stage and started singing.  After her message, Joni spontaneously invited Kristyn Getty to join her in singing the hymn, "Amazing Grace," not knowing how this would greatly impact and ultimately transform the life of one woman in the audience.

Brooke Boyer wanted nothing to do with God; she was angry ...

THE Great Story

This past weekend I finished one of the most delightful books I’ve ever read.  I don’t use the word “delightful” blithely.  Each chapter was like savoring every morsel of a sumptuous meal.  I was saddened when the book came to an end.

The book was “As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the Making of The Princess Bride” by Cary Elwes (the Dread Pirate Roberts).  Actually, it was the audio book, which was read by the author with his charming British accent.  That actually enhanced the experience.

The reading was also ...

Walk the Talk

I've been asked about my job more in the past couple of weeks than I've been asked my whole life.  Between a few high school reunion gatherings (marking our 30th this year!) the "what do you do for a living" question came up time after time.

The response to my 23 year tenure at Ambassador is always the same, "You must really like what you do."

There is one significant reason I like what I do which I'm always quick to share -- it's a distinct privilege to represent quality Christian broadcast ministries and specifically, to ...

Preparation is key.

That's one of the key elements I shared with the undergraduates I interviewed who applied for the UCLA Fellows Program this past week.

The program invites exemplary undergraduates to participate in a rigorous selection process (to which 600 apply) to be among the ten chosen to spend next summer in a coveted intern role at a prestigious Fortune 500 or elite non-profit organization.

Other tips I shared as they plan for the next round of interviews (they move on to interview with the prospective company representative):

- Speak confidently.

- Go prepared (i.e. research the company's ...

A Special Visit with Eric Metaxas

What a treat for our Ambassador staff to have Eric Metaxas with us last week and to hear him share about many topics close to his heart including his passion for his new book, "Miracles."  I'm pictured here with Eric along with my husband, Matt, and BreakPoint® producer, Bill Reitler (far left) and his wife, Debi (far right).

Eric keeps a very busy schedule so you might say that indeed, it was a miracle that we were able to host him at our office while he was in the area to speak at a packed house on the topic ...
