This historic broadcast features Billy Graham. It's hosted by long-time team member, Cliff Barrows. As it has for decades, the Hour of Decision® remains true to the preaching of the gospel.
It was October 1950 in Portland Oregon, that Billy Graham was first approached by local Christian businessmen who encouraged him to begin a radio program.
Dr. Graham repeatedly said no because of his already busy crusade schedule. On one occasion, he good-naturedly said, "If before midnight tonight we receive $25,000 in funds dedicated only for radio, I'm willing to do the broadcast." That evening, speaking before 17,000 at the crusade, Dr. Graham repeated the story. Although he never asked for financial help, many brought in checks that night as money set aside for a radio program. When the Graham people counted it at midnight, it totaled exactly $25,000.
Billy Graham went on the air with his first Hour of Decision® in November 1950 from Atlanta, Georgia during a crusade.
