When Jesus gave the Great Commission to the disciples, these ordinary men were faced with a seemingly overwhelming task: Making disciples of all nations.

Yet in the midst of this seemingly overwhelming directive, Jesus assured them, “Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20)

And that we draw ever closer to the end of the age, Christians continue the work of taking the gospel to every corner of the earth.

Just this month, John Sorensen, president of Evangelism Explosion (EE) and host of Share Life Today, convened the third triennial Congress of the Nations sponsored by EE in Malang, Indonesia. Delegates from 86 nations attended the ten day event, strategizing and learning from one another how to better reach the lost for Christ.

The first Congress of Nations had representatives from 30 countries, and it included pageantry, with a ceremony in which delegates march into the assembly hall, each carrying their nation’s flag. But as Sorensen notes, it’s not just a ceremony.

“Each of these participating nations represents ministries that are having a profound impact on the world through training people to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ,” he said. “That’s the ultimate goal—reaching every tribe, every nation and every people group with the good news of salvation through Christ alone!”

EE’s ultimate goal is to see every person on earth have the opportunity to hear the good news about Jesus, and believes a key strategy for that to happen includes equipping Christians through an EE movement in every country. EE’s goal to have over 100 nations represented at the next conclave in 2019.

Share Life Today is EE’s 1-minute daily radio feature, equipping listeners to become more successful at sharing the Gospel. You can learn more by clicking here!
