In 1967: The Six-Day War began. Israel was victorious against Egypt, Syria and Jordan and Jerusalem was reunited.

In 1968: US presidential candidate Robert Kennedy was shot by Sirhan Sirhan; he died the next day.

In 1977: The Apple II computer, with 4K of memory, went on sale for $1,298. The Apple I had been sold primarily to electronic hobbyists since 1976.

In 1981: The first cases of AIDS were reported by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
