Tidbits for July 6

We realize you have limitless avenues for finding the “fodder” that can help make your on-air personalities sound fascinating, relevant and substantive. In 1933: The Major League Baseball All-Star Game was first played, in Chicago, as part of the 1933 World's Fair; The final score found the AL over the NL, 4-2.

In 1942: Anne Frank, a 13-year-old diarist took refuge from the Nazis, along with her family, in the Secret Annex; they were discovered two years later and most were killed.

In 1957: John Lennon and Paul McCartney met for the first time.

In 2002: Serena Williams beat older sister Venus to win her first Wimbledon title and second straight Grand Slam tournament.
